Joseph Elliot - "Faux Frameback" - Sheffield - c. 1840 6/8" with Modified Point. Custom Ruby Red Acrylic scales with an ivory acrylic spacer. The razor has been fully restored by Max Sprecher to include mating the restored blade with a pair of his custom scales made specifically for this razor.
Grind: Near Wedge
Condition: Fully restored
Front Tang Marking: "C (cross) C" to Left; "Josepf Elliot" over "Silver Steel "
Rear Tang Marking: None
Blade Etch: None
This razor was fully restored to near perfection by Max Sprecher. Originally, the blade would have termiated in a notched point. At some point in this razor's life the tip has been reground. The blade has a mirror finish. However, evidence of its history remains in the form of some dark spotting throughout. The edge has a slight "smile" as shown in the photos. The Ruby Red Acrylic scales were shaped and sized individually by Max for this razor. We have had the razor professionally honed. So, it is completely shave ready.
Other examples of Max's work can be seen on his Facebook page, MaxSprecherCustoms.
